Keeping your car’s paint looking brand new is tricky, and washing and waxing won’t always protect your car’s shiny paint finish.
You may have noticed that your car’s paintwork isn’t looking as shiny as it used to. This could be due to a variety of factors, such as swirls which can be caused by improper washing, scratches from hedges, corrosion from bird droppings and even marks from the rain.
Machine polishing is a technique that Dick Lovett’s expert bodyshop team can use to improve the appearance of your car. Often considered a more effective method than hand polishing, using a car polishing machine can remove scratches from your car’s bodywork, and improve the overall appearance of your car by enhancing the shiny look of the exterior.
Having your car machine polished also keeps it cleaner for longer, meaning fewer trips to the carwash. Scratch removal and swirl removal starts at £120, including VAT, for your whole car.
The good news is that these defects can be improved or even removed with our car polishing machines. After your car is machine polished, for an additional cost, we can apply further paint treatments and protections which will enhance the look of your paint. To get that fresh paint work shine, we will prepare your car first. The protectant is actually the last step to that great looking shine.
As there are many different types of clear coat lacquers, we don’t recommend you try to machine polish your car at home, as lacquers can vary greatly in hardness. For example, German clearcoats are usually scratch resistant, but Italian marques can be much softer.
Harder paints will require more effort to remove defects, while softer paintwork typically may be trickier to work with - and you could quickly burn through your paintwork exposing the bare metal of your car.
