Our Role as a Credit Broker

When arranging finance, we act as a credit broker and not as a lender.

We work with a limited number of carefully selected lenders and finance providers. We do not provide independent financial advice and are not independent financial advisers. Our role is to introduce customers to finance products available through our lender panel and provide information to help customers make an informed decision about the options available to them.

In most cases, we will initially introduce you to the finance provider associated with the vehicle manufacturer or brand you are purchasing. Where that lender is unable to offer a finance solution suitable for your circumstances, we may introduce you to an alternative lender from our panel.

We do not charge customers a fee for arranging finance.

Commission and Other Benefits

If you choose to enter into a finance agreement with a lender we introduce, we will usually receive a commission from that lender. This commission is generally calculated as either a fixed fee or a fixed percentage of the amount borrowed and may vary depending on the lender selected.
Some lenders may also provide us with additional commercial support, such as preferential vehicle stocking facilities and contributions towards training, systems, or marketing activities.

Any commission or other benefits we receive do not affect the interest rate, charges, monthly payments or total amount payable under your finance agreement, as these are determined by the lender.

We are committed to being transparent about any commission we receive. Before you enter into a regulated finance agreement, we will tell you the amount of commission we will receive from the lender in connection with your agreement. If you would like further information about how this commission is calculated or how it relates to the finance options available to you, please ask a member of our team and we will be happy to explain.

The finance products we can offer are limited to those available through our panel of lenders. We do not undertake a market-wide assessment of finance products.

If you would like further information about any commission or other remuneration we may receive in relation to your finance agreement, please ask a member of our team and we will be happy to provide additional information before you enter into the agreement.

Our colleagues will explain the finance options available through our lender panel; answer any questions you may have and provide information to help you decide whether a finance product meets your needs and circumstances.

You are under no obligation to obtain finance through Dick Lovett and are free to arrange funding independently. We encourage customers to consider whether the finance options presented meet their needs and to compare alternative sources of finance where appropriate.
