The All-New BMW 1 Series – Sharp, Sporty, and Dynamic

BMW’s 5-door hatchback has been completely redesigned for its fourth generation to sharpen its profile as the sportiest vehicle in the highly competitive premium compact segment.

Featuring a highly efficient three-cylinder engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology and manufactured with a sustainable production process designed to conserve resources, the new 1 Series is symbolic of BMW’s strive for progression.

This progressive character is reflected in the redesigned interior which is leather free as standard. Generous amounts of space combined with newly designed seats and centre console create a modern premium ambience throughout the cockpit which is underlined by the inclusion of the BMW Curved Glass Display.

The fully digital display system now operates on the latest BMW iDrive System based on BMW Operating System 9 with QuickSelect for intuitive and convenient operation of the vehicle’s functions.

The new BMW 1 Series also offers an extended range of automated driving and parking systems as standard or optional equipment. Standard features include Parking Assistant and Reversing Assistant, whilst highlights of the optional range include Automatic Speed Limit Assist and Active Cruise Control.

The sporty aura of the BMW 1 Series has been taken to the next level with a strikingly flat front end that sits significantly lower to the road than its predecessor.

The iconic BMW Kidney Grille has taken on a new wide, forward-leaning shape that features an innovative structure of vertical and diagonal bars to create a stylish and modern look. While the side profile of the new BMW 1 Series is characterised by its long bonnet and dynamic wedge shape that is emphasised by a long roof spoiler and side air deflectors.

There are now two solid paintwork finishes and seven metallic finishes available for the BMW 1 Series, which includes four BMW Individual Paint Finishes. And of course, there is also a wide variety of BMW Individual special paint finishes available for selection. The new 1 Series also now features the option for a contrasting high gloss black roof to complete the sporty appearance of the car.

The optional M Sport trim contains a plethora of optional equipment to compliment the 1 Series’ athletic character, such as stiffer M Adaptive Suspension that increases the vehicle’s dynamic potential without compromising comfort. Extended high gloss shadowline trim including rear spoiler and diffuser also add to the overall aesthetics.

The new BMW 1 Series benefits from increased agility, steering precision, and cornering dynamics thanks to the increased rigidity of the body structure and the chassis connection.

Advanced chassis technology includes optimised kinematics, highly preloaded anti-roll bar mounts, and new shock absorber technology. The caster of the front wheels has been increased by 20 percent, ensuring particularly stable directional stability and optimised steering feedback.
