It produces 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque, subtly enhanced by a mild-hybrid system that improves throttle response, efficiency, and overall drivability.

Paired with BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel drive and a quick-shifting 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, the M340i launches from 0–62 mph in just 4.4 seconds. Although, many owners have found it to be even quicker than its official figures suggest.

Compared to the Touring version of the M340i, the reduced weight of the Saloon provides performance benefits, though with a slight trade-off in practicality. This results in the M340i Saloon being 0.2 seconds quicker to 62 mph than its Touring equivalent – a subtle but noticeable difference for those who prioritise performance.

The BMW M340i xDrive Saloon comes equipped with an impressive array of standard features. Highlights include front heated and electric memory seats, M Active Differential, Parking Assistant, and the curved display with BMW’s iDrive 8.5 operating system.

A variety of premium optional packages are also available to elevate the driving experience further. These include options such as the Harman Kardon Surround Sound audio system, electric glass sunroof, M Sport Seats, and a heated steering wheel.

M Adaptive Suspension

M Adaptive Suspension is available as optional equipment and can be controlled via the Driving Experience Control buttons. It offers a refined balance between comfort and sportiness, with adaptive damper control that can lower the ride height by up to 10mm, as well as automatic ride-height adjustment based on vehicle load.

In addition to this optional upgrade, stiffer suspension bearings, an increased front camber angle, and additional body struts to enhance chassis rigidity are included as standard on these models.

M Sport Differential

Another fantastic performance upgrade received by the M340i is the M Sport Differential. This improves traction, agility, stability, and driving behaviour depending on the driving situation and road surface conditions.
