Should I choose a used BMW 3 Series Saloon or Touring?

It depends on what you want from your car. The Saloon is the purist's choice, a BMW through and through with a sharper profile and slightly more involving to drive. The Touring brings practicality and a significantly larger boot while still benefiting from the 3 Series' trademark handling precision. Both are available in our current stock of used BMW 3 Series at Dick Lovett. Visit your nearest dealership to see them both side by side.

Is a used BMW 3 Series a good family car?

Yes. The used BMW 3 Series combines premium comfort and driver engagement with everyday usability, making it a fantastic experience for both the driver and passengers. Rear passenger space is generous, while the boot provides plenty of room for luggage, shopping, pushchairs or sports equipment. A BMW 3 Series used car for sale is a perfect choice for the whole family.

Is the BMW 330e worth choosing as a used 3 Series?

It’s one of the greatest BMW 3 Series used cars available for the right person. The 330e's 22.3kWh battery delivers an electric-only range of just under 40 miles, enough to cover most daily commutes entirely on electric power, while the petrol engine takes over seamlessly on longer journeys. A remarkably efficient option that can help save on daily ownership costs.

It’s a great-looking car, superb to drive, with the Touring variant being named Best Estate Car to Drive in the 2023 What Car? Car of the Year Awards. Take advantage of this at a more accessible entry point by choosing a used BMW 3 Series.

If you’re looking to purchase a used BMW 3 Series, you won’t be short of choice. The range spans several powertrains, including petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid models, along with multiple trim levels.

The used BMW 3 Series range includes SE, SE Pro, Sport and Sport Pro trims, as well as M Sport, M Sport Plus Edition and M Sport Pro Edition models. M Sport is also available as the Shadow Edition, which adds a darker exterior styling theme.

In terms of body styles, there are two main models to consider: the sleek, sports-inspired Saloon and the larger, more practical Touring estate. It’s far from just a reliable performer, though, with some engine variants capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 4.4 seconds and reaching a limited top speed of 155mph.

The BMW 3 Series engine line-up includes petrol models such as the 318i, 320i, 328i and 335i, alongside diesel variants including the 318d, 320d, 325d, 330d and 335d. M Performance models include the M340i xDrive and M340d xDrive. The BMW 330e plug-in hybrid combines a petrol engine with electric power and offers an all-electric range of just under 40 miles.

For those wanting even more from their 3 Series, explore our adrenaline-filled BMW M3 and BMW M3 Touring. These high-performance variants deliver the same everyday usability with added thrills.
