Dick Lovett Annual Football Tournament

On Sunday 23rd June, the much-anticipated Dick Lovett Charity Football Match took place at Goals Bristol North. Although the event wasn't just about goals and glory, it was a great way for our teams across different dealerships, locations and departments to get together for a day of fun and fundraising.

Sixteen teams competed in a friendly, yet spirited, match that kept the referees on their toes. It was great to see the matching kits, support team, and a lot of half-time oranges as well as spectators from across the group.

Highlights from the Day

  • The local derby for Porsche Swindon vs Ferrari Swindon finished 12-2 with Porsche taking the win!
  • There was a toughly fought match gaining a lot of attention when Porsche Tewkesbury took on BMW Swindon.
  • Group D ended in a three way tie between Porsche Newport, Porsche Tewkesbury and BMW Swindon and had to be decided on goal difference and BMW Swindon's 11-0 win over Porsche Bristol meant they went through to the final round of the league.

A huge congratulations goes to BMW Swindon, who took home the coveted 5-a-side trophy for 2025. This is their second consecutive win for the team, who regularly play football together outside of work. “We are thrilled to win the tournament for the 2nd year running” said Daniel Argrave, Team captain for BMW Swindon, “The standard of football was high this year, as a team we needed to dig deep after suffering our first defeat. We showed great character to win the tournament after that”

Special Thanks

We appreciate the support from Goals Bristol North for helping us to set up the event and tremendous hosting on the day.

We also would like to thank Bowood Hotel and Spa and Homewood Bath for their generous prizes which were donated to raise money in our raffle. The event raised over £1,000 for the Lovett Foundation. The funds will go towards our fundraising campaign to raise £20,000 for a 5-year Care Leaver’s Programme in Swindon, which is co-ordinated by Wiltshire Community Foundation.
