Service Manager
Take ownership. Lead from the front. Drive our service department forwards.
We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded Service Manager to lead our team at Dick Lovett Motorrad Bristol. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the service department, develop your team and make a meaningful difference to the business. You will combine a clear focus on performance with a hands-on approach to the day-to-day operation, working closely with service advisors and technicians to deliver an excellent experience for our BMW Motorrad customers.
Why Join Us?
A genuine opportunity to take ownership: This is a role for someone who wants to shape how a department operates, not simply maintain the status quo. Bring your ideas, establish clear standards and take responsibility for delivering improvements.
Lead with visible impact: Be a present, approachable leader who understands the detail, supports colleagues and stays involved. Your influence will be felt in the workshop, at the service desk and throughout the customer journey.
Build a team you can be proud of: Take the opportunity to develop people, strengthen teamwork and create an environment where high standards and shared success go hand in hand.
Help drive the business forwards: Combine your enthusiasm for motorcycles and customer service with the commercial focus to build customer loyalty, identify opportunities and deliver sustainable departmental growth at Dick Lovett Motorrad Bristol.
Key Responsibilities
The role
• Take ownership of the department’s daily operation, setting clear priorities and leading a team of service advisors, technicians and support colleagues by example.
• Stay close to the action: oversee bookings, workshop loading and work in progress, help resolve operational challenges and support the team during busy periods.
• Drive workshop productivity, efficiency and profitability, using KPIs and departmental budgets to identify opportunities and turn improvement plans into action without compromising quality.
• Champion clear customer communication and high service standards, taking responsibility for resolving concerns and building lasting customer relationships.
• Coach and develop your team, set clear expectations and build a culture of accountability, collaboration and pride, where everyone understands their contribution to moving the business forwards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
• Proven service or aftersales management experience in the automotive or motorcycle industry, ideally within a premium brand environment.
• A hands-on leadership style, strong people skills and the willingness to get involved, support your colleagues and take responsibility for the department’s results.
• A commitment to excellent customer service and continuous improvement, with an enthusiasm for motorcycles and an understanding of what matters to their owners.
• Commercial acumen, confidence managing budgets and KPIs, and the ability to translate opportunities into practical actions that improve profitability.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving problems, balancing the demands of today with plans for the department’s future.
• A full UK driving licence is required, ideally a full A class motorcycle license but is not essential.
Ready to make your mark?
This is your opportunity to take ownership of a team, lead from the front and help shape the future of our service department. Bring your energy, ideas and determination to Dick Lovett Motorrad Bristol and help us move the business forwards. We would love to hear from you.
