Which used BMW 2 Series body style is right for me?

The used BMW 2 Series range spans five distinct body styles, each with its own character. The Coupé is the driver's choice, rear-wheel drive, two doors, bold wheel arches and the most engaging dynamics in the range. The Convertible shares that driving character with open-air freedom. The Gran Coupé is a compact four-door option with a front-wheel-drive package. The Active Tourer is the practical, family-oriented choice, taller, more spacious, and available as a plug-in hybrid. The Gran Tourer adds a seven-seat third row for those who need maximum versatility. Find the perfect body style for you.

What is the most performance-focused used BMW 2 Series?

For the purist, the answer is the M240i xDrive. It sits in BMW's M Performance bracket, between the standard cars and the full M variants, with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, an aggressive M Sport body kit, M Sport brakes, individually tuned sports suspension, and a variable steering rack. It’s one of the most engaging 2 Series BMW used models on the market.

Is the used BMW 2 Series Active Tourer available as a hybrid?

Yes, and it is one of the most popular used BMW 2 Series models. The 225e PHEV offers an impressive electric-only range. For drivers who want the practicality of the Active Tourer alongside low running costs and the ability to cover most daily commutes on electric power, it is the standout choice.

Used BMW 2 Series Convertible Cars For Sale

Compact but with impressive power, a used BMW 2 Series is a sporty car that drives and handles responsively. Besides the BMW 2 Series Coupé and Convertible, the wider 2 Series range incorporates the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, and the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer.

The original BMW 2 Series launched in 2013, introducing the first generation two-door Coupé, replacing the 1 Series Coupé, with the 2 Series Convertible launching in 2014 as a replacement for the 1 Series Convertible.

A used BMW 2 Series Coupé or Convertible is a great option if you want a sports-style car with a practical edge. There are larger cars within the BMW range such as the 3 Series Touring and BMW X2, but an estate or an SUV isn’t for everyone.

For those who prefer agile handling, the BMW 2 Series will appeal. Although the Coupé and Convertible only have two doors (the Active Tourer, Gran Tourer and Gran Coupé have four), the interior space can accommodate four people.

As you’d expect from a BMW, a used 2 Series is well-equipped with impressive tech features. These vary across the available trims and variants. Infotainment systems, navigation, and excellent driver assistance and safety aids are standard. Fuel efficiency is above average, so a 2 Series BMW used car can be cheap to run, too.

All used BMW 2 Series for sale models at Dick Lovett come with a BMW Warranty. This gives it unlimited mileage protection against breakdown and repair costs for parts and labour. This is for a minimum of 12 months.

To provide total confidence in your second-hand BMW 2 Series, the warranty is backed by BMW rather than third-party insurers. It even covers the battery and exhaust.

When looking at the selection of used BMW 2 Series for sale, you should understand exactly what you want to buy. There are variations on engine size, engine type and trim specification that you need to consider.

There are four available trim levels on the BMW 2 Series used. These are the SE, Sport, Luxury, and M Sport, which deliver a dynamic, racing-style driving experience.

For road-racing performance and design, the M240i has to be the pick of the engines. It delivers an output of 340 BHP, a top speed of 155 mph and 0-62 mph acceleration of 4.7 seconds. Other petrol and diesel engines are available, ranging from 1.5 litres to 3 litres.

Fuel efficiency (MPG) varies by engine type. If this is an important factor when buying a used BMW 2 Series, check the MPG figures before choosing your model. Some newer 2 Series BMW used vehicles are fitted with mild hybrid engines, which can help to increase fuel efficiency. The Active Tourer is also available as a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) model.

Used BMW 2 Series cars come in three different drivetrains – 4x4, rear-wheel drive and Front Wheel Drive – and in five distinct body styles: Coupé, Convertible, Gran Coupé, Active Tourer and Gran Tourer. The coupé is sleek and elegantly styled. The convertible is perfect for summer driving, when you can pop the top down and enjoy the open air (and open road).

Buying a used BMW 2 Series with Dick Lovett is simple and flexible. We offer a choice of finance deals to make it easier to buy your car. You can buy it outright and spread payments over a few years, or lease it for an agreed period of time. Ask us about our Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) and Hire Purchase plans.
