Is the used MINI Countryman available as an electric car?

Yes, from the third generation onwards. The electric Countryman is offered in two forms: the front-wheel-drive Countryman E with 201bhp, and the dual-motor, four-wheel-drive Countryman SE All4 with 309bhp, both using a 64.6kWh battery. Earlier second-generation MINI Countryman used models were available as a plug-in hybrid .

What is the John Cooper Works used MINI Countryman?

The John Cooper Works is the most performance-focused second hand MINI Countryman in the range. It uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 296bhp and 295lb ft of torque, with a 0-62mph time of 5.4 seconds and a 155mph top speed. It comes with uniquely tuned suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, JCW sports seats and a distinctive red and black interior.

How practical is the used MINI Countryman?

More practical than the MINI badge might suggest. Boot space on the third-generation Countryman is 450 litres, accessed via a near-vertical hatchback that makes loading straightforward, and the full-sized rear seat offers enough space for two adult passengers comfortably. The second-generation model matches this, with the same 450 litres expanding to 1,390 litres with the rear seats folded.

Used MINI Countryman PHEV Cars For Sale

It’s the MINI with the most. The MINI Countryman is the largest model in the brand’s range. A family SUV that retains MINI’s iconic sense of fun, the Countryman is a great practical option combined with plenty of quirky style.

The MINI Countryman was launched in 2010. The model received a refresh and a facelift from MINI in 2014, ahead of the second-generation's 2017 release. The third generation of the Countryman is set to be unveiled in 2024, with an all-electric version making its debut.

Meet the MINI Countryman – a MINI, but in a bigger package. If you love the character of a MINI Hatch, but need a larger car – for a growing family, for example – a MINI Countryman used makes for an inspired choice. It carries all the charm of a MINI, and as a compact SUV, it has plenty of space for passengers inside.

MINI has enhanced the exterior design of the Countryman to create a bold, adventurous appearance – typical of an athletic SUV. Roof rails, a large front grille and rounded LED headlights are among the main features.

The interior is smart, even plush, with optional soft leather seats and upholstery, making every journey a pleasant and comfortable one. The dashboard layout features a large speedometer, and there’s an excellent range of tech, which is accessible via the circular infotainment touchscreen. As well as touch, this can be operated using the rotary controller or the controls located on the steering wheel.

Sat nav is standard on newer used models, as is Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and cruise control.

The Countryman was the first MINI model to be produced with five doors, so rear passenger access is easy. The boot space is a good size, offering 450 litres of storage capacity – this expands out to 1,390 litres when the rear seats are folded down. The seating can be configured to suit, so you can fold both seats down, or one, depending on what you need.

Some models of used MINI Countryman will have Driving Modes available, to enhance performance and maximise fuel economy. There are three modes. Sport Mode boosts acceleration, Green Mode prioritises fuel economy, and Mid Mode provides a balance of both.

MINI Countryman used models are fitted with a range of safety features and driver assistance functions as standard. These include rear parking sensors and automatic emergency braking, with other features available as options – such as a reversing camera, which provides additional guidance when parking and manoeuvring into tight spaces.

When you buy an approved used MINI Countryman from Dick Lovett, you also get a minimum 12-month warranty, which includes unlimited mileage against breakdown. It also covers repair costs on warrantable items and labour costs. Those items include the battery and exhaust. Find the latest used MIN Countryman models for sale at Dick Lovett MINI.

Across the used MINI Countryman range, you’ll discover an excellent choice of different engines and model variants – so you can select the perfect type for you.

There are five different engines to consider. The entry level model is the 1.5-litre three-cylinder Cooper, which delivers 136hp. Next is the Cooper S, which has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 178hp. While the Cooper has 0-62mph acceleration of 9.7 seconds, the Cooper S improves that to 7.5 seconds.

The Cooper S ALL4 also has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, with 178hp, but provides four-wheel drive.

Top of the range is the John Cooper Works model. Its 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine unleashes a powerful 306hp and 0-62mph is a rapid 5.1 seconds. Maximum top speed is 155mph.

Diesel engines in the Countryman range were phased out in 2020. Older used MINI Countryman models with diesel engines will still be available, but newer versions are petrol only – with the exception of one plug-in hybrid.

The Countryman PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor; a combination that delivers 217hp. It’s still a quick drive, with 0.62mph in 6.8 seconds, and an all-electric range of up to 26 miles. Even in pure electric mode, you can achieve a top speed of 87mph.

It’s worth knowing that, because of the motor and battery it houses, the MINI Countryman PHEV has a smaller boot than the petrol models. Capacity reduces to 405 litres – 45 litres less than other models – so if boot space is a priority, it may be part of your final buying decision.

There are three trim levels across the MINI Countryman approved used range – Classic, Exclusive and Sport.

Classic is the entry level trim, with standard features such as cruise control, and front and rear LED headlights. The Sport trim adds 18-inch alloy wheels (Classic has 16-inch alloys), sports suspension and a sportier spoiler.

The Countryman Exclusive is the top trim. Leather sports seats are among the additional features.

John Cooper Works models come with the Premium Pack - Automatic Transmission included. This includes front heated seats, parking assistant, reversing camera and more systems. Head-Up display is also available on John Cooper Works models - this puts navigation info and driving speed in your eyeline so it’s conveniently visible at all times.
