The MINI Motability Scheme is the perfect way to lease a brand new model. With a range of benefits – including a generous mileage allowance and the flexibility to exchange your car for a new MINI every three years – getting a MINI on the Motability scheme can offer a simple solution to your motoring needs.
To find out more about the MINI Motability Scheme and the line-up of MINI Motability cars available from Dick Lovett MINI, just get in touch. Across the group, we have official MINI dealerships in Bristol, Hungerford (near Newbury and Andover), Melksham (near Bath) and Swindon. All have disabled parking and access.
Our team of expert MINI advisors will be delighted to explain more about how the Motability scheme for MINI works, discuss your eligibility criteria, and talk you through the latest deals and offers.
Do you qualify to lease one of our MINI Motability cars? It’s important to understand eligibility for the Motability Scheme, because it’s not available for everyone. Again, the team at Dick Lovett MINI will be able to explain all of this to you – but you could be eligible for the MINI Motability Scheme if you currently receive any of these benefits:

Confused about how the MINI Motability Scheme works? Don’t worry – our team of experts at Dick Lovett MINI can explain everything, before helping you to find the perfect new MINI; one that suits your needs and can be adapted to complement your lifestyle.
To secure a lease deal on one of our stylish MINI Motability cars, you simply exchange your mobility allowance. Most of the vehicles included in the Motability scheme need all your allowance – but there are some models that also require an additional payment too. This is called an Advance Payment. Optional extras will incur additional charges.
After you take out the lease on a new MINI, payments will be deducted from your mobility allowance every four weeks. This covers car costs. A lease agreement for one of our MINI Motability cars lasts three years, though it’s five years for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles.
At the end of the three-year deal, you have a range of options. You can choose to return your car and take out a lease on a new MINI model, keep your current car for longer, or just return it and get your mobility allowance back.

The MINI Motability Scheme offers a range of benefits, including:
At Dick Lovett MINI, our trained advisers will help you to find your dream new car. Across our dealerships in Bristol, Hungerford (near Newbury and Andover), Melksham (near Bath) and Swindon, we have an excellent range of MINI Motability cars, including popular models like the MINI Cooper 3-Door, MINI Cooper 5-Door, and MINI Countryman.
We’ll show you all available models, arrange test drives for your favourites, help to complete the order for you and arrange collection of your vehicle when it’s ready. We also have a BMW Motability range if you’re open to considering other models.
To join the MINI Motability Scheme, you must receive one of the following disability allowances with at least 12 months remaining when you apply. If you have less than 12 months remaining, you'll need to wait until your allowance provider renews your allowance:
You can’t apply if you receive a lower rate or component of mobility allowance, or Attendance Allowance. If you receive DLA and have been instructed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to apply for PIP, you also cannot apply. You won’t be affected if you already have a Motability vehicle.
Parents of children (from the age of three) and non-drivers can apply to join, but the vehicle must be used by, or for the benefit of, the disabled person.

Under the terms of the MINI Motability scheme, you could soon take ownership of a top-of-the-range MINI with all these benefits included in your lease:
The Advance Payment is a fixed upfront payment required for certain vehicles, in addition to your weekly mobility allowance.
This payment is non-refundable and is determined when you order your car based on factors such as the vehicle's cost, maintenance, and expected value at the end of the lease. It is required because your mobility allowance may not fully cover the cost of larger or more expensive vehicles.
The payment is made in one lump sum directly to your Motability Scheme dealer, either before or on the day you receive your vehicle.

The answer to this is down to your personal circumstances, but if you need a car and qualify for one of the above mobility payments, the Motability scheme is arguably the best way to get you mobile in a brand new vehicle.
It avoids the stress of wondering how much things will cost because all the costs, such as insurance and servicing, are built into the contract, plus the insurance covers up to two drivers.
You can add up to three drivers on your motability lease. Two can be added during your application, and the third can be added at any time during your lease. You can also change the listed drivers as needed.
Each driver must meet RSA Motability's eligibility criteria and adhere to the Scheme's policies, and hold a valid driving licence. RSAM will require their licence number, date of birth, and any motoring convictions. It's important to note that the vehicle must be used for the benefit of the disabled person, even if they are not present in the car for every journey or listed as a driver.
Only drivers listed on the Certificate of Motor Insurance will be authorised to drive the vehicle. And those who have certain motoring convictions, licence endorsements, fixed penalty notices or disqualifications within the last five years will not be eligible to drive your vehicle.
