1. 2010 John Cooper Works Convertible (R57)
A MINI Convertible with serious performance, the R57 JCW Convertible, first launched in 2010, is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged engine producing 208 hp. It delivers sharp handling and open-top thrills, with sporty styling, upgraded suspension, and an engaging six-speed manual. It’s a fun, agile drop-top built for enthusiasts.
2. 2022 Resolute Edition Convertible (F57)
Fast forwarding to 2022 for our next Convertible, the Resolute Edition. Most notable, the Resolute Edition is the only non-JCW model to feature Rebel Green paintwork; a deep green that pays homage to the original MINI Connaught Green used on the Austin 1100. There are a number of other features that set the Resolute Edition apart, including Checkered Seats, 18″ Pulse Spoke Black alloys, pinstriped surfaces, a Nappa steering wheel, and plenty of Resolute badging.
3. 2007 Sidewalk (R52)
The Sidewalk was the first special edition model available for the R52 generation MINI and was a final celebration of the R52 Convertible before the next generation launched. Exclusive Sidewalk details included special paint options, the most recognisable of which was Sparkling Silver, which debuted on the Sidewalk. The optional Malt Brown leather seats perfectly matched the exterior colours, and unique 17" alloys and upgraded interior trims added sophistication.
4. 2011 Avenue Package (R57)
The MINI Yours program launched in November 2011 and brought a host of well-known special edition models across the range such as the Soho, Hampton, and London. But the Avenue Package is a lesser-remembered trim, available only in Highclass Grey or Laguna Green Metallic for a short time. It also featured Satellite Grey Soda Lounge leather and an exclusive ‘Soda’ repeating design motif on the mirror caps and stripes.
5. 2021 Shadow Edition (F57)
Things got moody in 2021 with the launch of the Shadow Edition trim available across the MINI range. The Shadow Edition features Midnight Black metallic paint, contrasting Silver roof and mirror caps, and Piano Black exterior trim, exuding a sleek, understated style.
6. 2012 Highgate (R57)
Another of the lesser-remembered special edition MINI Convertibles launched in 2012, the Highgate was only available in Iced Chocolate metallic with a matching soft-top. It features unique brown/black bonnet stripes with blue edging. Inside, Dark Truffle leather seats with blue piping are complemented by brushed alloy trim. The edition includes 17-inch Double Cross alloy wheels, plenty of badging, and a high level of features thanks to the standard Chili Pack.
7. 2021 Sidewalk (F57)
MINI brought back the Sidewalk name in 2021 for another special edition. This time it was packed with even more unique exterior and interior design details. Instantly recognisable with its Deep Laguna metallic paint and anthracite soft-top roof with checkered detailing. The Sidewalk badging features on the side scuttles and door entry strips, and there are also special bonnet stripes. Inside, MINI Yours Leather Lounge seats feature Petrol Blue and Energetic Yellow contrast stitching, and there’s more Sidewalk-specific blue detailing on dash trim and door panels.
8. 2022 Seaside Edition (F57)
The Seaside Edition commemorates the 30th anniversary of MINI’s Convertible models with exclusive coastal-inspired styling and a host of premium features. It was available in Caribbean Aqua or Nanuq White and featured unique white double side stripes. Inside and out, there are plenty of '30' motif graphics and 'Seaside' badging in orange. A standout feature is the special key adorned with an iridescent blue wave pattern, echoing the seaside theme.
9. 2023 Cooper SE Convertible (F57)
When launched in 2023, the MINI Electric Convertible was the first-ever electric convertible car to hit the market. One of the rarest models on our list, only 999 units were produced globally with 150 allocated to the UK. It was available only in White Silver or Enigmatic Black exteriors, both complete with elegant Resolute Bronze accents inside and out.
10. 2025 Convertible John Cooper Works (F67)
Bringing it right up-to-date for the tenth Convertible on our list is the very latest John Cooper Works model. Get set for exhilarating open-air performance with a 2.0L turbocharged engine producing 228 hp and 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds. As well as a host of JCW-specific styling features, inside it offers a 9.4" OLED display, JCW sport seats, and a Harman Kardon sound system.
