Finished in elegant Argento Auteuil, this Dino left the Maranello factory in September 1972, destined for the UK market. Accompanying the car today is an extraordinary history file, including its original factory order and invoice, providing a rare and tangible link to the moment this iconic Ferrari first began its journey.
Shortly after delivery, the Dino was exported to Australia, where it spent the next four decades enjoying life in a climate well suited to preserving one of Ferraris most celebrated creations. In 2013, the car returned to the UK and embarked upon a painstaking restoration with a singular objective: to return it to exactly the same specification in which it left Maranello.
Entrusted to renowned Ferrari specialists Foskers, the restoration was conducted without compromise and culminated in an expenditure of approximately £137,000. The accompanying documentation includes detailed restoration invoices together with an extensive photographic record charting every stage of the work. Completed in 2017, the result is a Dino that reflects both the beauty and integrity of the original factory build.
Its quality has since been recognised through the award of a Ferrari Factory Certificate and the coveted Ferrari Classiche Red Book, confirming its authenticity and historical significance.
