Used Aston Martin DB4 For Sale

The DB4 was a notable model in the history of Aston Martin’s road cars, it was developed in a golden era of motorsport for the company and was first shown in 1958 showcasing a new “Superleggera” chassis developed in collaboration with Touring in Italy, the DB4 was also the first new model to be produced in their now iconic Newport Pagnell factory and a year later, Aston Martin had their famous success at the 1959 LeMans 24 hours.

Our car here was built and delivered to its first owner in 1960 which means this is a “Series II” DB4, currently sitting in the fabled “Aston Green” to celebrate the racing victories of its time. This was originally ordered in Dark Blue and despite being specified in right-hand drive, this car was delivered new to North America to a personal friend of David Brown just outside of Chicago, Illinois. We have a copy of the original build sheet and order to show this along with an extensive history file, beautifully presented in a dedicated archive folder.

The file documents the cars journey back to the UK in the 1970s whereby it was repainted in red for its new owner and then an incredible series of communications and invoices with various leading marque specialists where this car received a fastidious restoration in 2009 whereby it found the colour it sits in today, the remains in superb condition both cosmetically and mechanically. The paintwork and brightwork on the exterior present very well and the interior has a wonderful patina. The car is “on the button” to start and drives extremely well as the engine was rebuilt by Aston Engineering and bored up to 4.2 litres in capacity with the addition of a third carburettor, so this DB4 has absolutely no problem keeping up with modern traffic!
